ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The end of the year is always a busy time and this year is no different!  We have had an action packed last fortnight here at school with an equally busy last three weeks to come.

Our orientation day was a fantastic success last week.  It was a pleasure to welcome our 2024 Year 7 cohort to our school.  Staff were really impressed with the respect shown by all students and we can’t wait for them to join our community next year.  On this day our current Year 7s went on an excursion to the Salmon Ponds to conduct some learning activities across most learning areas.  They all displayed our school values of Aspiration, Respect, Courage and Growth.  Last week and this week we have also seen many of our Year 10 students embark on orientation days at a variety of colleges that they will be attending next year.

I am really looking forward to our presentation evening today.  It is always a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements made by our students across the year.  Thankyou to all of the staff who have worked tirelessly to make this evening possible.  I would also like to thank our dedicated staff who volunteered their time to run a stall at the New Norfolk Market last Saturday.  We look forward to this becoming a regular event next year.

This Friday will be a new event at NNHS, Rainbow Day.  On Rainbow Day we are encouraging students to wear rainbow colours and make a gold coin donation to Walk4BrainCancer, in memory of Chris Woolley and Lisa Cantrell, our treasured staff members who passed away this year.  If families would like to make a donation please see our school Facebook page for the link.  On Friday we will be aiming to conduct a 12 hr walkathon from 6AM-6PM where we keep 2 batons moving around a 1km track.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of fun activities throughout the day.  We would love for families to join us after school to walk some laps and share in a barbecue.  Please contact me if you have any questions about Rainbow Day.
