The school’s Meet and Greet held on Monday was a successful event, bringing together parents, teachers, and students for a warm and engaging introduction to the new school year. Families had the opportunity to connect with staff, learn about school programs, take a tour of the school and build a strong sense of community.

The DECYP Lifting Literacy Priority emphasises the importance of strong literacy foundations, with New Norfolk focusing on enhancing reading fluency for all students. Through targeted strategies and support, the school is committed to building confident, capable readers who can engage deeply with texts. We will develop and share our Multi-tiered system of support for students as the year progresses. Staff have been busy gathering reading fluency data to help inform the supports that are required for our students through 2025. 

Beginning on Wednesday March 12 NAPLAN assessments will begin. NAPLAN provides valuable insights into student learning, helping schools identify strengths and areas for growth in literacy and numeracy. At New Norfolk, a focus on student engagement ensures that learners are supported and motivated to achieve their best in NAPLAN and beyond.
