The grade 9s have recently had the opportunity to make a hero’s engine in science, using cans to create a steam engine and practicing their procedural writing in the process. In maths we have been working on linear equations with many of our grade 9s learning algebra in depth for the first time and applying equations to real world situations such as cost efficacy and measurement.

In English, grade 9 has been reading our grade novel, A Simple Gift with many students requesting copies of the book or asking to buy their own copy. It has been great to see the focus in English as everyone works together on their reading and interrogating the deep themes of the book.
