This week has been a difficult one for the school, with the passing of our friend and colleague, Mrs Chris Woolley following an illness. Chris was a well-loved member of our school community. We are deeply saddened by her death and our thoughts are with her family.
Chris worked at our school for several. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and compassionate member of staff who was always willing to drop everything to help those around her. She made many connections over her time here, first as Chaplain, then as a Support Teacher. She ran our Hands on Learning Café program last year and was instrumental in establishing the School Lunch Pilot program.
There will be a Thanksgiving Service to celebrate and commemorate her life on Monday 20th of November from 1.30 pm at St Matthews in New Norfolk. Given the numbers of staff who will attend, it is likely that alternative arrangements will need to be put in place for that afternoon. Communication will be sent to all families early next week providing details.
At the school, there have been support structures in place to help, including extra support staff on site. If you would like further advice, or have any concerns about your child, please contact the school so we can connect you with a member of the Leadership or Support Team.

Across recent weeks due to the school holidays school sport has been quiet, but this has given us a chance to look forward to what sports events are coming up in term 4. Our two main events this term will be our Inter High swimming carnival and our Reclink community basketball series where our girls’ team will look to secure their fourth title in a row. Staff v Student sports at lunch times will continue this term with the chosen sports to be released soon, as well as all of this we are also holding our annual Golf Day at the New Norfolk Golf Club which all students involved will be well prepared for as we are lucky enough to have PGA pro Adam Holden running several golf clinics in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned for more sporting updates and good luck to all students who have begun a new summer sports season.
