Our vision for New Norfolk High is a respectful learning community with high expectations for ourselves, for others and for the way in which we learn together. Applying our Values to bring this vision to life is The New Norfolk Way.
There was fantastic feedback from Claremont College about the way in which our Year 10 students demonstrated all of our values at their Taster Day last week. Nearly all transition plans have been completed for these students, well ahead of where we were at this time lats year, and it is great to see so many building on this by beginning to step into their future pathways.
We also have had great feedback from staff and those students engaged in the Arbre School Forestry Work Experience program and our recent Incat trade excursion. Congratulations as well to those students who, since the last newsletter, also demonstrated Aspiration and Growth by successfully complete their White Card training at school.
Thank you very much to all those who came to our Parent Teacher event last week. Those who were able to make it saw our new Café in action. Being developed to support our Y11/12 VET Hospitality courses, the café is also a big hit for those wanting a warm drink or even just a warm space before school or at recess. We are always looking at ways to improve and so have also put together a very short survey for those who did and also those who did not attend: https://forms.office.com/r/ZkiCGZUFhu
We wish you all a happy and safe holiday break and look forward to seeing everyone again when school starts for students on Monday 22nd of July.

Parent-Teacher interviews
Our parent-teacher interviews were held last Monday. These conversations provided a valuable opportunity for open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers, reinforcing the strong partnership essential for student success. Our café was open for business during this time and it was great hear the compliments for our new space and the food and beverages that were supplied.
A big thank you goes out to all the staff involved in making the afternoon run smoothly and to the parents for coming in to build positive relationships.
Reports
Reports were able to be collected at the parent-teacher event. For those that were unable to make it, reports have been mailed home.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s learning, wellbeing or engagement then please contact the school.

New Norfolk High School has a School Student Dress Code and Uniform Policy, which is endorsed by the School Association. The Policy is to promote social equity in terms of clothing, assisting school staff in easily identifying students and enhancing the sense of connection and belonging within our school.
At New Norfolk High we have high expectations for everyone, every day to follow the New Norfolk Way. While most students do a great job in supporting the School Uniform Policy, our expectation is for all students to be in uniform all the time. To support this, students who arrive at school in a non-uniform top will need to swap that item for a school top while they are at school.
If you need assistance with your child’s uniform, please contact the school to discuss how we can support you.
It has been wonderful to see Year 10 students enthusiastically wearing their school celebration tops, demonstrating pride in, and connection to their school.
We have had a very busy fortnight at the High School with numerous events. On Friday June 21 our students played in the first of their four-week AFL 9s competition. Both our Girls and Boys teams were lucky enough to go through the day with only one loss. A massive shout out to all students involved not only for their sportsmanship and teamwork amongst themselves but also with other teams, schools and officials. We look forward to round two this week.
On Monday July 1 we were very lucky to welcome Richard Jones from Para Squad Tas, who take our Grade 10 students through a double lesson of wheelchair sports, this followed on from his body safe talk in Term 1. This was a very enjoyable and eye-opening experience for our Grade 10 students who were very thankful for being able to take part. Thank you to Richard for making this possible.
As a HPE team and school we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and we look forward to seeing you refreshed and ready to go for Term 3.
